I help tourism and hospitality organisations transform their impact work into their biggest competitive advantage.

Hi, I’m Natalie
GSTC speaker | Forbes-featured | TTG Sustainability Hero finalist | Conscious Travel Foundation Mentor | MA Media for Development and Social Change | LATA Sustainability Mentor
I started my career almost two decades ago as a travel journalist and storyteller, covering South, and East Asia for independent outlets like Roads & Kingdoms and Matador Network, with a focus on responsible travel and local storytelling. I studied a BA in English Literature and Creative Writing and later graduated summa cum laude from The University of Sussex with a Masters in Media for Development and Social Change - a systems-level, decolonial lens that underpins how I think about impact today
Since then I’ve worked widely across Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Vietnam, Australia, and the UK inside Hotels, Safari Lodges, Tour Operators, and DMCs, where I lead Product, Marketing, and Sustainability teams. I was also the Founding Head of Positive Impact at Jacada Travel, where I grew their impact focus into something that earned Forbes coverage, industry awards, and genuine credibility across the sector.
My cross-industry experience gives me unique insight into the wider ecosystem of the travel industry. I believe that impact sits at the core of long-term travel business survival, helping organisations to stay relevant in a shifting consumer market, differentiate from the crowd, and retain top-tier staff.
“Natalie is one of those rare people who leaves a lasting imprint from the very first conversation. She has also been a real source of momentum for us at The Conscious Travel Foundation, and a genuine benchmark for decision-making. We often find ourselves using a ‘WWND’ approach - what would Nat do!”

Work with me
The travel industry as we once knew it is changing. Travellers are more discerning, buyers are more demanding, and competition is fierce. Luxury is no longer enough to create market interest. Travellers want their trips to have a sense of purpose, making impact a commercial differentiator that (when done well) can truly transform your business and create significant ROI. The organisations winning attention and trust right now are the ones that can demonstrate their impact and weave it skillfully into the guest experience.
I help travel organisations turn impact from a side project into one of the most exciting, credible parts of their business: the thing that excites staff, earns press, and gives guests and partners a real reason to choose you.
For development organisations I help bridge the gap between development goals and commercial travel networks, translating on-the-ground work into partnerships, funding routes, and income streams the travel industry can actually plug into.
-
Impact Design Strategy — starting from $3,500/month
I help hotels turn genuine impact work into a guest experience people feel, remember, and return for. This includes auditing current practice against where global standards are heading, then embedding it into staff storytelling, guest touchpoints, and communications that build real trust with press, guests, and booking partners.
-
Consulting Retainer — starting from $2,700/month (6-month minimum)
Through weekly touchpoints and support, I work with the Product, Makreting and Sustainability teams for DMCs and TOs who want to sharpen their approach to sustainability and impact. Over the space of six months, we’ll turn your impact strategy into a competitive edge by improving how you evidence and communicate impact work in order to stand out to partners, guests, and increasingly impact-conscious source markets.
Minimum six months, because strategic clarity takes time to embed.
Scope confirmed after an initial conversation.

Strategic Advisory — pricing on application
For organisations working at the intersection of tourism and development, whether that's foundations, NGOs, multilateral institutions, or impact-led businesses, I offer strategic advisory on how tourism can be a more effective vehicle for community and conservation outcomes.
My background spans both the commercial travel industry and the development sector, which means I understand the constraints and incentives on both sides. I work on programme design, stakeholder engagement, sector partnerships, and impact measurement frameworks.
If you're working on something at a systems level and need someone who can navigate both worlds, I'd like to hear about it.
“If you are thinking of working with Natalie. Just do it. She is great. A dream person to work with as she possesses all the talents and skills you could hope for. Smart, passionate, hard working and optimistic with a healthy dose of common sense thrown in too.”

Industry Involvement
Change in travel only moves forward when the right people are in the room together. I'm actively embedded across the organisations, networks, and working groups shaping how the industry thinks about impact - connecting peers from major tour operators, DMCs, certification bodies, and NGOs.
